We used our Mobile Screed Factory and our Laser-Guided Screed Robot, Buddy, to deliver 10,000 m2 of our Traditional Sand/Cement Floor Screed with fibres in Dorset Street – St. Mary’s Place Renewal Project, on behalf of the local main contractor, Duggan Bros.
Duggan Bros. website tells us, ” This is a transformative regeneration initiative undertaken by Dublin City Council (DCC) to revitalise the area between Dominick Street Upper and St. Mary’s Place. This ambitious project seeks to reinvigorate the local community and urban environment by replacing outdated structures with modern, sustainable developments that respect the area’s rich historical context.
The Dorset Street – St. Mary’s Place Renewal Project is a transformative regeneration initiative undertaken by Dublin City Council (DCC) to revitalise the area between Dominick Street Upper and St. Mary’s Place. This ambitious project seeks to reinvigorate the local community and urban environment by replacing outdated structures with modern, sustainable developments that respect the area’s rich historical context.
At its core, the development will provide 163 sustainable, high-quality homes—including apartments, duplexes, and houses—designed to meet modern living standards while enhancing the urban landscape. In addition to these residential units, the project incorporates vibrant community spaces such as a multi-use childcare facility, café, commercial unit, and boxing club, ensuring a blend of living, leisure, and community services.
The design emphasizes seamless integration with the surrounding urban fabric. The buildings, ranging from three to seven storeys, are carefully planned to complement the local architecture while preserving key historical landmarks, notably the iconic Dorset Street Fire Station. High-quality construction, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability are central to the project, reflecting a commitment to both the environment and the community’s future.
Beyond its architectural and environmental achievements, the regeneration aims to significantly enhance the vibrancy of the neighbourhood. By creating mixed-use spaces that offer essential services and recreational opportunities, the project contributes to Dublin’s long-term housing and infrastructure goals and supports a thriving, interconnected community.
Ultimately, the Dorset Street – St. Mary’s Place Renewal Project represents a major step forward in urban renewal. It not only delivers modern, sustainable housing but also preserves Dublin’s architectural heritage, providing a vibrant living environment that will serve the community for generations to come.”
